5 Tips for a Successful Tree Removal

Tree removal looks straightforward until something goes wrong. A little planning keeps people, property and the rest of your garden safe.

1. Check the regulations first. Some species and heritage trees are protected. Confirm whether you need permission before any work begins.

2. Assess the lean and surroundings. Which way does the tree naturally fall? What's underneath — fences, cables, the neighbour's roof? Map the drop zone carefully.

3. Use the right team and gear. Ropes, rigging and experience matter far more than raw horsepower. This is not the moment for a borrowed chainsaw.

4. Plan the clean-up. A felled tree is a lot of material. Know in advance how the timber and green waste will be cleared away.
